We have been actively involved in the Marine, Maritime & Offshore Renewables sectors since 2009. Since then we have undertaken numerous projects in this fast growing industry and have been pioneers in driving forward the burgeoning Offshore Wind sector in the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Working in partnership with organisations such as Team Humber Marine Alliance, Department for International Trade, Yorkshire Forward, local authorities and the University of Hull as well as industry developers and operators we have ensured that companies and regions can maximise all available opportunities.
We have also developed global connections and have advised several US States about Offshore Wind economic development, strategy and supply chain development.

Manufacturing & Engineering
We have wide ranging experience in this area working directly with companies, trade associations and academia to raise awareness and explore new opportunities across the manufacturing and engineering sector. In 2011 Square 5 were instrumental in developing and organising the Global Manufacturing Festival: Sheffield which was launched in London at EEF HQ. Clients include University of Sheffield, Infastech, Tinsley Bridge and DiT.
Square 5 are business development specialists based in Sheffield and North Lincolnshire offering an open, flexible approach to business. We excel in revitalising companies by helping them identify new opportunities and diversify in to growth sectors, as well as utilising innovative ways to raise their profile.
Square 5 Ltd was launched in 2009 by business partners Emma Tiernan and Mark O’Reilly. Collectively they had experience of working in a wide range of industries including Marine, Maritime, Manufacturing, Energy, Automotive and the Public Sector – working with Tier 1 companies through to small businesses. It is through this experience that they recognised a need to provide business support services, particularly for smaller businesses and so set up their own business development and communications company - Square 5 Ltd.
Mark O'Reilly now leads the organisation with its team of experienced industry associates. He is a seasoned Industrialist and has over 35 years experience in the Maritime/Industrial/Engineering sector with significant UK and International expertise of Strategy, Business Development, Marketing and Export including several years as Director and General Manager. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and contributor to various industrial, economic and academic Boards.
For the past 11 years Mark’s focus has been on the Marine & Offshore Energy "Blue Economy" industries particularly around opportunities in the "Offshore Wind" sector. He actively promotes the region as a centre for Offshore Renewables whilst endeavouring to involve local and regional companies in the supply chain. He has developed global connections in Offshore Wind and has advised several US states on economic development, strategy and supply chain.
Mark is a member of the Regional Council at Maritime UK, Humber LEP Marketing Group, North Lindsey College Stakeholder Board and is a Director (former CEO & Chairman) at Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA). Mark has many years experience in the engineering, automotive and electronics industry working closely in the past with SAAB, Ford, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Nissan and Bentley as well as with global Electronics giants Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Sanmina and Flextronics.
Mark is an advocate of renewable energy, exponent of the "Blue Economy" lover of all things maritime and is passionate about collaborative working. Through Square 5 he initiated the Global Manufacturing Festival:Sheffield 2011 and through THMA the Offshore Wind Connections Conference & Exhibition.
